Hello My name is Tricia Preston ... I am a wife and mom of three funtasic Children! I am a creative...Which means I love to create.
I love to paint almost anything! especially walls. If I had it my way I would be repainting my walls a few times a year. I love lots of bright colours so our house is not lacking colour. I love to paint designs, patterns and pictures on walls, and furniture. I have recently extended my paintbrush from walls, furniture, and canvass to fabrics. I am developing textiles for children(pillows, duvet covers, and curtains.)
Which leads to my new business Funtastical Studios "keeping the fun in children's lives" It is a creative line designed for children. I offer children's murals, paintings and prints, notecards, furniture and textiles. My products are uniquely designed and full of colour, fun,and whimsy.
I have a love for storytelling. Having three children under 5 allows me lots of opportunity to do so. I have been inspired to write and illustrate my first children's book which I hope to release in the Fall of 2014.
I also enjoy teaching workshops for children. I have designed a curriculum Called Adventures In Art. It is hours of mixed media lessons for children. I enjoy encouraging children in their creativity and love to watch them explore. Teaching workshops gives me an opprotunity to do this.
I am blessed to be married to wonderful husband who also is very creative. He brings something to my work that I can't and that is music. As he would say I am pretty much tone deaf! However I love music and love to incorporate it with storytelling!
Living with at creative guy can sometimes make life a little interesting with an overflow of idea's and a
shortage of time, we are learning to make creativity part of our ordinary day. Inviting the kids into our creative space can be trying but also very rewarding, as they inspire us in so many ways.
My inspiration mostly comes from my sketch book of daily doodles. Who would of thought so much could come from a doodle. My hearts desire is to create pieces of art that will bring joy and fun into lives and brighten up any space!
I thank God for the gifting's that he has given and I do my best to grow and develop them so that not only am I blessed but others are as well.
